The Tale of How 2 Became 1*
I am a Wordle Nerdle. I wear a Wordle Girdle. I flip the Wordle Birdle.
Like the rest of the world, I am hooked on Wordle. I adore its simplicity and timed-release dosage. My family started a Wordle group text, sharing our scores whenever we complete each day’s puzzle (after midnight for my brother, sunrise for my mother, bedtime for my sister). This thread, equal parts cheering section, war room, and pulse check, has quickly become one of the highlights of my day.
Over time (fine, a month), I’ve tried different start strategies:
- The Wheel of Fortune Final: words with R,S,T,L,N,E
- The Scrabble Monster: QU- and Z- have to be used at some point!
- The David Lynch: “It came to me in a dream…D-R-E-A-M…”
Lately, I’ve been choosing starter words that have come up while meditating with my Calm app. I’m a novice and count on Tamara Levitt to deliver my Daily Calm. Yesterday, Tamara introduced kumbhaka, a breathwork technique that involves pausing between inhales and exhales. I love breathwork because it reminds me of the warmup exercises we did in high school choir:
INHALE (2…3…4…), HOLD (2…3…4…), Sssssssssssssss (2…3…4…5…6…7…8…)
